Service · Assembly

We assemble. You install. Less labor for you.

Light mechanical assembly services. We combine machined parts with purchased hardware (fasteners, bearings, dowels, threaded inserts) into ready-to-install sub-assemblies. Customer receives complete sub-assemblies, not loose components.

What we assemble.

Threaded fasteners

Bolts, screws, set screws — assembled to torque spec with calibrated torque drivers. Threadlocker (Loctite) applied per drawing.

Bearing installation

Bearings pressed into housings or onto shafts at specified interference. Heat shrink for larger interference fits.

Dowel pin installation

Dowel pins pressed into holes for alignment of mating components. Verified for proper protrusion.

Threaded inserts

PEM nuts, heat-set inserts, threaded inserts installed in plastic or thin-wall metal parts.

Press-fit bushings

Bronze bushings, sleeve bearings pressed to spec. Inspection after pressing for retention and bore dimension.

Sub-assembly bonding

Anaerobic adhesives, structural epoxy, urethane adhesive applied per spec. Cure time accommodated.

Spring installation

Coil springs, gas springs, spring loaded mechanisms assembled with proper preload.

O-ring fitting

O-rings installed in seal grooves with appropriate lubricant. Verified for groove seating.

Cable harness routing

Pre-fab cable harnesses routed and clipped per assembly drawings. Connector engagement verified.

FAQ

We assemble — questions

What's the cost of assembly vs DIY at customer?

Assembly cost depends on complexity. Simple sub-assembly (5-10 parts, 10-15 minutes labor): $5-15 per assembly added to part cost. Complex sub-assembly (20+ parts, 30+ minutes): $20-50 per assembly. Compare to customer's in-house labor cost — often 2-3× ours due to higher labor rates. For volumes 100+ assemblies, our assembly typically saves customer significant cost. We quote each specific assembly.

How is torque controlled?

Calibrated torque drivers (Atlas Copco, Mountz) for each torque spec. Annual calibration with documentation. Each operator trained on torque procedures. For critical assemblies, torque verified with second tool (audit). For high-criticality assemblies (medical, aerospace), 100% torque verification with electronic recording.

Threadlocker compatibility?

We use Loctite anaerobic threadlockers — 222 (purple, low strength), 242/243 (blue, medium), 271 (red, high strength), 290 (green, wicking after assembly). Specify Loctite number on drawing — we apply correctly. Surface preparation (cleaning, primer) per Loctite specifications. Cure time accommodated in delivery schedule.

Bearing press fit verification?

After press fit, we verify: (1) Bearing fully seated (no gap on backing surface). (2) Bearing rotation smooth (no binding from over-press). (3) Final ID/OD dimensions per spec (some interference reduces effective ID). For critical bearings, force vs displacement curve recorded during press to verify proper installation. For aerospace bearings, complete documentation per AS9102.

Sub-assembly traceability?

Each sub-assembly lot identified with: lot number, date code, operator ID, work instructions revision used. Component parts traced to manufacturing lots (from material certifications back to mill heat). Complete traceability chain from raw material through customer-received sub-assembly. Documentation archived per customer industry standard (10+ years aerospace, 25+ years medical).

Packaging integration?

Yes — assemblies packaged in customer-specified packaging. Anti-static for electronics. Particle-controlled bagging for medical/semi. Custom foam inserts for delicate assemblies. Customer-branded boxes available. Integrated packaging eliminates customer repackaging step.
