FAQ

From R&D prototype to 10,000-unit producti — questions

Can you provide PPAP documentation?

Yes. PPAP packages at levels 2, 3, or 4 per AIAG PPAP 4th Edition. Standard documentation includes: design record, engineering change documents, dimensional results (CMM), material and performance test results, process FMEA, control plan, MSA, capability studies, and sample parts. Typical PPAP turnaround is 3–4 weeks after first-article approval.

Are you IATF 16949 certified?

PifyC operates under IATF 16949-aligned workflows for automotive customers, including APQP phases, FMEA, control plans, and error-proofing. Formal IATF 16949 certification is currently not held. For customers requiring an IATF-certified source, we partner with IATF-certified subcontractors on specific scopes.

What automotive lead times do you offer?

Prototype CNC parts: 3–7 business days. Sheet metal prototypes: 5–10 days. Rapid injection molded parts: 14–21 days. Production runs depend on volume and complexity — typical rapid tooling for 1,000–10,000 parts is 14 days + molding. Full PPAP-documented production: 6–8 weeks.

Do you work with major EV OEMs?

We supply prototype and pre-production parts to automotive customers globally including EV startups, Tier 1 suppliers, and race teams. Specific customer references available after NDA. We ship to customers in the US, Germany, UK, Japan, Korea, and other major automotive markets.

What automotive materials do you specialize in?

Aluminum 6061-T6 (general brackets), 7075-T6 (high-strength structural), 5052 (battery trays, chassis). Steel 4140 (shafts, drivetrains), 1018 (non-critical brackets). Stainless 304/316L (exhaust, fluid). Plastics: PA66-GF30 (under-hood), PC/ABS (interior), POM (gears), PBT (electrical). Glass-filled plastics for structural brackets.

Can you handle battery pack components?

Yes, a significant EV workstream. CNC machined aluminum battery trays and cold plates, sheet metal pack enclosures with TIG-welded joints, injection molded cell holders (glass-filled PA66, ABS-FR), busbar fabrication (OFC copper with nickel plating), and thermal management components. Pressure-tested water-cooled plates on request.
